Polymet's patented hot extruded wire products are unsurpassed in quality. This process technology allows Polymet to manufacture high performance small diameter solid welding wire from alloys with limited ductility. The hot extruded wire process consists of assembling billets containing coated alloyed rods of desired chemical composition. The billet is heated to a high temperature and extruded to a predetermined size. The billet is split, revealing long strands of small diameter wire, and further processed into cut straight length or spooled wire products. During final processing the wires are passed through a rigorous cleaning process that ensures the welds are free from contamination. Polymet's high performance welding wire products are available in a variety of different alloys. |
